Wow, I just cannot believe that 2008 is nearly at it's end! This has been a very fulfilling, exciting year for me as the FBI chose my case along with 4 other "cold cases" to be worked on and my case was also taken over by Tim Cromie of the CID at Dickinson Police Dept., along with the FBI who have diligently worked on it since it's been in their hands and made a promise to me that they won't give up on it. I am hoping I will be able to share some "BIG" news on my case with you all hopefully at the beginning of 2009. This year has also given me a few opportunities to visit family in another state, and I've been in touch with family members that didn't even know I existed and I am starting to develop a relationship with them! Jonathan and I are also doing very well and he is the absolute love of my life...I can't imagine a day without him. I am forever grateful for everyone and everything God has put into my life, and owe everything to him. I hope you all have a very safe, and joyful holiday season - and keep checking back for updates! Thank you all for your support!

Needing to vent a little...

Sometimes, things are taken out of context, mistakenly. We all do it, but I just want to make sure everyone gets the right information when it's about something that has happened to me...so, with that said:
1) I was NEVER beaten by the man that kidnapped me. There are people now taking it upon themselves saying that I was, and as far as I know, over the course of the last 18 years, I've never heard of such or remember that happening, and I remember more about that night than most would, so, it's coming from me that that is NOT true. As if all that happened wasn't bad enough, now people are coming up with more to add to the story that is already enough in itself.
2) My case was NEVER closed and then re-opened. It's been open this whole time, and will be open until it is solved. Some of you are hearing that it was re-opened by the FBI, however, it's been open the last 18 years, and it was chosen by the FBI this year, amongst a total of 5 "cold"cases in the U.S., to be worked on, and hopefully solved within a year.
3) I don't know why the media keeps saying that my bedroom WINDOW was OPEN the night I was kidnapped through my bedroom window. MY WINDOW WAS CLOSED SHUT, AND LOCKED, and the curtains were drawn closed. So, I don't know where the media has gotten some of their information from, but my window being wide open...that just isn't true, either.
- just wanted to clarify these 3 things for everyone, as it bothers me when people receive information that isn't true.
Thanks everyone, again, for your support! Please continue to spread the word about http://www.justiceforjennifer.com/, and sign my guestbook if you haven't already!

Regaining My Voice...
Posted in on 12:03 PM by Jennifer
This blog site is titled "Jennifer's Voice" because after undergoing surgery on my neck and windpipe, doctors said that I was left permanently unable to speak. But, as we all know, God works miracles, and one day, laying in ICU, I got mad over not getting a candy bar that I wanted, and if you know me, you know I'm a choc-o-holic AND I can be a little demanding at times! I wanted a Twix bar, I was determined to get it. Frustrated, as you can imagine, at 8 years old, having to write everything down on paper, tired of undergoing tests and being hooked up to machines, I just wanted that piece of chocolate. I just wanted to SCREAM when I was told "no." So, I tried it...I tried screaming. When that didn't work, I tried calling out my uncle's name, hoping I'd come upon a voice and he'd hear me and give me what I wanted, and....wait! Something was happening! A "Ja" sound came out of my mouth. The next thing I knew, doctors were being called upon and rushed to my bedside as they put tubes down my nose and throat with cameras on the end, asking me to make animal sounds. "Alright, Jennifer, now Moo like a cow." "Quack like a duck." "Bark like a dog." ... nothing was working. Everyone must have just been imagining they heard me make a sound with the voice I no longer had. To make a long story short...soon after, I proved them all wrong, no one was imagining what was soon to come...I regained my voice, by the grace of God, and haven't been quiet since. Before regaining my voice, and afterward, I was able to give a description of my attacker.
From the descriptions I gave came these drawings that were done by a sketch artist:

Wow, I cannot believe I have a website up! Thanks to De, one of the greatest, most loyal friends I could ask for..you're an angel in my eyes! I definitely owe you, girl! What you've done for me and the site is incredible, and thanks to you, thousands of people can now read my story, and now there's even more of a chance we will get who did this to me, and save other girls from the same happening to them...together we are making a difference! =)
